While the world is occupied with decisions, consequences, desires and challenges, it is easy to lose sight of who you are. Without taking the time out of the day to revisit your goals and purpose, oftentimes you forget to ground ourselves in the midst of life. Thankfully, Paponeireau is here to remind us to breathe.

The layered harmonies, a relaxed piano melody and the soft violin as backup instantly transports the listener in a dreamy state. The lyrics are simply “Just breathe // feel // just be // breathe // feel // just be” and without saying much, he lets you feel all of it. By encouraging his listeners to let go of everything that weighs heavy on the heart, this allows them to fully experience the submerging into the song. Thanks to a looping pedal, Paponeireau traps the listener into a mindfulness abyss, letting the music wash over them.

I think it is refreshing to see and hear an artist whose dedication to the craft leans more on the holistic side. When the focus of the music industry is capitalistically centered, it becomes hard to distinguish the line between reality and fantasy. Again, the chaos of life takes over. However, it seems like Paponeireau is not worried about the numbers or revenue. He’s just a violinist who wants to heal people through his own music. To remind them that life is beautiful and there is time to spare. Whether it would be to look up just to admire the moon or to appreciate the soft hues in the sky while the ocean waves are crashing. His music sets the intention of balancing your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual energy and reconnecting them. And he executes this perfectly through his use of symphony and sound experimentation when sticking with an ambient-folk sound.

This is a perfect track to put on in the background for the month of June as it transitions from Gemini to Cancer season. In the midst of a new moon solar eclipse as well as spring’s mercury retrograde, a healing HZ track like this welcomes wellbeing, stability and a calming state of mind.
